Thanks for the reply Scott huge fan and I love your work I have one more question. I'm getting a pain in my neck while doing tricep rope pull downs. Anyway to solve this?

Are you keeping your head neutral, rather than looking up or down? That could be causing the issue, or it could be some nerve damage somewhere. Do you get this pain during any other movements?

Also..try to make sure you post your questions in the forum sections they are related to. For example, this would be best as an injuries thread :-)

If I were to do your push pull legs routine how long would each work out last? would it be possible to finish the workout in 1 hour.

Are you using the calculator on the @mealplan page? Or is it from somewhere else? Becuase it sounds to me like you have possibly put the decimal point in the wrong place, and that you've actually calculated your BMR in kilojules, not calories.

For example, if the number you had was actually 9236.572 kilojules, that would be 2205 calories, which would be pretty normal.

Let us know!

Scott! thanks for replying so fast, i can see that your really care about teaching people, that´s what drew me to your page. I am using the calculator on the @mealplan page, i tried to adjust the input and this is the info: 154 pounds - 73 inches - 24 years - hard exercise - BMR AT REST: 11987.42 BMR IN MOTION: 22776.10 (so i don´t know what´s up, for some reason is giving the result in kilojules, i will just adjust the result to calories, but i wanted to let you know just in case, maybe is a malfunction of the calculator) thanks again for replying. laughing

Generally the workouts take 75-90 minutes. If you want to get through it quicker, try super-setting some of the exercises :-)

That is weird..it may be a glitch you are having where there is an extra number being added on to the front...but it is working fine for me.

So can you go ahead and post this information in the MUSCLE GAIN (Assuming that is your goal) thread, along with all of your body stats and macros that the calculator provided, and your main goal. Then we can get you set up with a macro plan to follow :-)

Hey scott I have been lifting for about 6 months now and have started lifting heavier weights. I am 18 years old and I was wondering if I shoud buy a weightlifting belt and some straps to improve my lifts.

Hello Scott,
First let me say I just love your videos, thank you.
I asked you today on your live feed about diabetics and the amount of carbs. As a diabetic I am limited on the amount of carbs I can consume. Per my dietician they want me to stay under 16 grams of carbs per meal. I am on insulin, also two other oral medications, all my excess body fat is in my stomach area/midsection. I'm researching as much as I can about insulin resistance, a better diet to gain muscle, lose my belly fat at the same time. A little history about myself I am a disabled veteran, went through 3 surgeries in 2014 and during this time I gained all my belly fat. Basically I'm wanting to see if you have any suggestions on how to beat the insulin resistance and gain muscle on limited carbohydrates?

Thanks,
Lester A Cerana

First off @LACerana, thank you for serving our country!

Sorry to hear about all your troubles with diabetes and surgeries, but I'll do my best to help you get things back on track as best you can!

About what the doctors have told you..I am no doctor..but 16g of carbs per meal seems ridiculosuly low. Are you sure they didn't mean sugary carbs? Because that is going to be the thing that will affect your diabetes the most is the sugary carbs - your lollies, chocolate, cake, ice-cream, even fruit, things like that. If you were to only have 5 meals a day..that would only be 80g of carbs and that really isn't a great idea in my opinion. You should double check that with your doctor.

You'll want to maximize your protein intake for muscle gain, but you'll also need to be in a surplus and that will have a bearing on your fat loss. It might be best to start at a 100-200 calorie deficit so that you can lose fat and potentially gain a bit of muscle. Have you been to the @mealplan page to calculate your daily BMR and macros?

It would also help if you posted this in a different @forum thread...such as nutrition, then more people can see it and potentially give you more insight about diabetes :)

Hope this helps so far though!

Also would you recommend getting wrist wraps.

It's similar to the answer I gave you about getting a belt...yes it wouldn't hurt to have wraps, but you should only be using them when you ABSOLUTELY need them.

And remember to make NEW @forum posts in new threads my friend..ones that relate to the topic of your question...it makes things much easier :)

Hey scott I have been lifting for around 7 months now and the only supplement I have been taking is creatine. I have recently read about BCAA's and my question is would you recommend buying them?

BCAAs are great..but like all supplements, they're there to SUPPLEMENT you diet. Make sure you have a solid meal plan in palce first..then maybe eventually you can think about adding something like BCAAs. If money is no object for you, then by all means grab some.

Also, make sure you post these kinds of questions in the correct @forum. For example, this should be in the SUPPLEMENTS section :-)
