The Skulpt Aim, Impedance Scale, and the Navy Formula appear to have vastly different estimates for my bodyfat... Which one appears to be more accurate in terms of bodyfat estimation?

Also, at what bodyfat can you expect to lose lower belly, lower back fat? Let me know if you need more info!

5'6'', 186 lbs @

28.8% bodyfat(Impedance Scale, morning measurement... no food/fluids for 12+ hours)

vs

27% bodyfat(Navy Formula)

vs

18.5% bodyfat(Skulpt Aim, full body)

Lifts:

  • Deads 320 lbs x6
  • Squats 285 lbs x 8
  • Bench 185lbs x7
  • Pullups bw x 11

Hey @cursed180.

Body fat is difficult to get an accurate reading on. It's best to choose one method and stick to that. I would say the Skult Aim is the best, however, I'm not so sure 18.5% is indeed accurate. I guess it could be if you have quite a bit of loose skin?

You can always try using the image to get yourself a 'guesstimation' of your total body fat.

As for losing body fat...there is no specific 'stage' at which you lose body fat from a certain area of your body. Your body simply decides where it wants to lose fat from, there is nothing you can really do about it. For males, we tend to lose our lower abdomen fat and under arm (tricep) fat last. But it's different for everyone.

Hope this was helpful!

27% something I would guess pretty close to what I looked like last year when I started my journey. It took me about 6 months of deficit and hard work to get down to about 18% then another 2 months something to be around 14-15 according to caliper atleast.

@joehurricane @Brolle81 I appreciate the replies! I know we are all different, but how about for you guys... when did you notice your lower ab/lower back fat starting to go away? Under 20%? Under 18? Under 15? Just curious/excited to be seeing results! I'm trying to plan out how long I will need to keep cutting. I have more recent pictures on my profile. I am guessing I'm somewhere in the 20's... possibly even around 25% according to the pictures you posted.

I guess I don't look terribly different than the picture above.  Maybe as high as 25% now...  Guess I will find out as I keep cutting for this Transformation Challenge.

I wouldn't sweat it too much my man. You just got to let your body do it's thing. I've been to 11.10% bf at my lowest and still had some to grab on my lower abs. I've seen guys at 10% flat in the abs and that's probably a good goal mark if that's where you are aiming. Since we are all different you just got to wait and see.

I have been training coming up on 6 years and have made some great gainz. I've done a lot of trial and error on myself as well as learned from others and through research online. I've come along way in strength and size since I've started. I will continue to learn and make myself better each day. I had full visible abs at around 16% but that is very diffrent from person to person depending on where their fat is displaced. My areas is back and belly. Even at 25% + I didn´t have and fat to speak of at my arms nor legs. But chest and belly and back. I still have a tiny tiny bit of fat left on chest and some on stomach and sides and back. I would guess by my own common sense and people guessing for me here that I´m around 13 % now (goal is 10% by the summer). Consistency is the key deficit and training and everyone with their mindset right can achieve it.

Hardest part is getting started and keep on being strict with food. Fun part is pushing / pulling weights .
