I would like to know that what should be the basic equipments one should buy if he wants to workout at home ?

The most basic stuff you should get is this: Use code "mindright-15" for 15% off! : https://www.gronkfitnessproducts.com/

https://www.gronkfitnessproducts.com/products/strength?variant=32476956364

With a set-up like this you can do everything you need to do to build some muscle at home safely. But I don't know what your goal is so I dont know if this is too much or just right.

Let me know!

Well if you want to lose weight then why not just start my 12 week home program and make it a 3 month cut instead of 2 before your bulk? :-) http://muscularstrength.com/12-Week-Home-Program

Thanks for the concern scott. Here in our place is fine, but the other city that were directly hit by the storm was in total damage. Anyway, thanks for that video, i could really use it.. :)

2 months? Must be close to goal. Took me three years to get where I am and I'm still not where I want to be.

Scott, the comment was more for the "I want to lose weight (get shredded?) in a maximum of 2 months". That's why I figured he must be close. I'm probably about 17 pounds away from where I want to be. Right now, I'm trying to shift my focus to adding muscle (hoping to add 7-8 pounds in as many months). Maybe I can at least look like I've lost some fat :)

Well look at it this way.. 17 pounds is closer than what you used to be right? :-) You could always choose to cut some more weight for the rest of this year and then focus on adding those 7-8lbs of muscle over the first part of next year?

I'm kind of plateaued at 200 the moment. That's why I'm changing focus - figured the extra muscle could help with the fat los by its mere existence. also, except for one day when I was eating at a little bit more of a surplus I was slashing calories to the bone (1000-1500/day).

Oh wow that is pretty drastic. If you are going into a muscle building phase just make sure you keep that surplus small so as to avoid gaining too much fat! That way you won't have too much extra to cut off when you return to a cut :-)

Well all of the routines come with downloadable PDFs so you can download them and have them stored on your computer - even print them off and take them to the gym! For the articles, the search bar usually makes them pretty easy to find, but you can always bookmark the article address on your web browser too! :-)

Hey Scott,

I started on the Home Workout program a few weeks ago. Love these workouts - I can just manage a 20 minute workout in the morning before going out to work.

I'm a Newbie at this - and started with small dumbells.

Pretty soon I upped the weight of the dumbells, but with heavier dumb you can do fewer reps - and these are AMRAP routines.

So the question is:

Is it better to use smaller weights and do more reps - or up the weights and do fewer reps?

Thanks

@rhonig awesome that you are doing the home program man!! As for how much weight to use.. I use 5lb or 10lb dumbbells for those workouts. Could you go to say 15lbs or 20lbs? Sure.. but there's no need to really. These are about maximum calorie burn, and you can achieve that with the 5s or 10s.. plus as you will have noticed, it gets pretty damn hard towards the end of the workout.. haha.

If you feel like it's getting too easy though, then by all means, bump up the weight 😊

Hey new here.. I am 35 years old sitting at 215 6’0” probably carrying around 25-30 lbs of fat. Body fat percentage would be in the 20-25% range. I Would obviously like to cut fat first and focus on nutrition before transitioning into building mass. Ultimate goal would be to be 200 lbs with 10-15% body fat. I have an ez curl bar with 70lbs total and two 30 lbs dumbells. I am on a caloric deficit right now. 1500-1600 calories a day. Need to calculate my macros. Havent trained with any regularity in over 10 years. Scratched together a basic meal plan and have lost 10lbs in 3 weeks. Just looking for any advice and/or help. Really like the site so far. Thanks for all you do.
