Might want to start doing some cardio if you want your abs to start popping. No way around it.

You do not isolate your abs not do cardio ? Well if you want your abs to pop and look good that is pretty much what you need to do. Like Robert states here: No way around it. If your goal is more visable abs, train them, do cardio and tweek your diet in order to lower bodyfat % if the cardio is not enough.

I agree, that's liek saying.. I want my chest to grow.. but I never have a chest day.
Deadlifts don't work your abs to build muscles, they strengthen your overall core. That is a myth a lot of these bros on youtube feed into.
time to hit those abs man, no way around it!

When it comes to abs the answer is always the same, and the one noone wants to hear ;)
The key to abs "showing" at all is the amount of bodyfat laying over them. There is no way around this.
Abs are always existant, but you have to make them show by getting your diet in check, and loosing bodyfat (cardio - but rather HIT cardio, because long regular pace cardio can lead to rather storing fat than burning it effectively, and makes you look more flappy)
Ab exercises are needed to make them "thicker", but are on their own not enough to make your abs show through.
So basically the facit, to reach the goal everyone is trying so hard to achieve, is that you have to fullfil these 2 things : diet / burning bodyfat + train them.
Thusly doing HIT (High Intensity) cardio 2-3 times a week will benefit you in loosing some bodyfat. As long as you "burn more than you take in", that is!
Which should also answer your question if you can stick to the same amount of carbs. Well you always can, if you train enough to actually burn them off, and not eat more than your body needed or at the wrong times, so they get only stored as fat and waterlayers. (and of course as long as you don't eat ridicilous amounts of carbs, which you simply can't burn off at all)
Same goes for fat of course as well.
You might also want to avoid food that bloats your belly.
PS: are you certain you are at 60 Kilo only ? that's the same weight i have and i am a lot thinner than you, and a female, and you guys are normally quite heavier, and you defenitally have more mass - at least what i can tell from the picture.

George,
The age old adage "Abs are made in the kitchen not the gym" applies. Dedicated ab exercises are needed to shape and define the abs. Nutrition is what makes them show. You can do all the cardio you want and all the ab exercises you want but if your nutrition is not spot on you will see nothing.

hmm okay. Just making sure =)
And yeah by the looks of it, i would have said you'd be around 70 kilo at least. Especially since guys are heavier than we females and when being very thin and scrawny are often already beyond 60.
Examples: our beloved member Jordan at about 60 Kilo: ---> JoeHurricane (hope it's okay i linked to it, Jordan ;)) you appeared more massive to me than this in your picture. (Or in comparison to me - i am really scrawny too, hehe ---> crood )
But then again it's hard to say without knowing your height and other measures. Maybe we are just tall and scrawny compared to you :)

long regular pace cardio leads to excellent efficiency of burning fats and therefoe making it no-go choice for losing fat for gymers and weight lifters :)

Basically exactly what i said? I wrote that i'd rather suggest HIT as long pace regular cardio is a no-option for really effectively loosing bodyfat, for this particular purpose here.
Could have maybe be more clear in the matter that you of course 'burn fat' with any type of cardio, but some of them rather lead to storage areas as well.
I stick to my word that i'd prefer HIT instead of long regular pace cardio for losing fat though, at least in my experience or from what i have learned =)
But in general i think i get what you were hinting at, of course marathon runners etc are thin like a sheet of paper, thus for them it pays off, but of course not very muscular or bulky, for those types of sports long cardio sessions are of course benefitial :)
*thumbs up for separating the target groups* good call
Cheers!

I didn't want to disagree with you since I also say that you will burn more calories (fats) with HI(I)T in same amount of (short) time ;)
I wanted to say that if you train long regular pace cardio that body efficiency will get better and you will burn more fats comparing someone who don't practice this. One who don't train that will burn more CHO than fats and one who train that will burn more fats than CHO for same time/distance.
So long regular pace cardio lead to fat burning effectively, but as no-go option for weight-lifters since it needs too much time (and have some "side effects" :) )

PS: FYI, probably I'm just too "sensitive" for those topics, similar as for carbs :)

okay i updated my profile, now all the measuments im not sure tho if im supposed to do it while im flexed
I would take your measurements flexed.
Whichever way you decide to do them though, you should always do it that way, so you can really tell whether or not you have made gains. For instance, if you measure first unflexed, and then measure flexed the next time, you will obviously have bigger measurements the second time :)

lol yeah. I have my icky subjects too. And agreed that "types of cardio" is always worth a discussion. (and so are carbs, to which i have my own opinion too!) ^^
And thanks for clarifying :)

Hey :) As jordan already answered, you can do it flexed or non-flexed. But whatever method you choose is the one you need to stick to from there on. Otherwise you can't tell if you had gains or losses etc.
PS: You need to edit your age, it's still set to 90 years - which i believe is not your propper age :P
