If you are going to do 1 sesh of cardio/hiit after legs then don't worry you won't affect any gainz. I like to keep my cardio to non lifting days but if you are going to do it on the same day then after is better. If you do cardio first you will use up energy you could use to demolish legs.

I have been training coming up on 6 years and have made some great gainz. I've done a lot of trial and error on myself as well as learned from others and through research online. I've come along way in strength and size since I've started. I will continue to learn and make myself better each day. Mike,

I agree with Aaron (adawg38). HIIT is supposed to be short and intense. No more than 15-20 minutes. It is best done after workouts. It maintains muscle as well as burns fat because it activates both red and white muscle fibers. Traditional cardio focuses on red muscle fibers which is why endurance/marathon runners look like concentration camp survivors while sprinters look like fitness athletes :-)

I agree too it's OK to do some HIIT after legs @Mike_Misiulis.

BUT...don't be surprised if your legs let you know all about it the next day haha. I try to keep my cardio to before and after my leg workouts, and last week I actually did it the day after legs...before I even started running I knew it was going to be a grind haha, and the day after...man, did I feel it!

So just be prepared for some serious DOMS, unless you are used to doing this kind of thing already.

I personally wouldnt do it. It could be ok but I still wouldnt do it. Too much of an annihilation for your legs obviously depending on the intensity of your leg workouts.

I would do HIIT on any workout day except leg day. I would do some light steady cardio after leg day.

Or perhaps you could think about doing your cardio in the morning and your weightlifting in the afternoon/evening. :)
