These two videos are perfect displays of how you should squat. If you are looking to gain muscle, gain strenght, cut or any other goal for that matter THIS is the one and only way to squat. The only excuse in my opinion for not squatting like this is if you have some type of illness / injury that prevents you.

Now days I see WAY to many people stacking plates on the bar and all I can think is "yeah.... right...." It would be AMAZING if someone came in and proved me wrong and actually did a perfect squat with a lot of weight. For instance if Jonnie Candito came to my gym, people would freak out and lose their minds.

Many people migth think how Jonnie Candito can lift as much as he does on his videos (You HAVE to check em' out !) Well I have a theory: Because of his perfect form on the squat no matter what weight he uses he becomes stronger than 90% of all other gym go-ers. He uses FULL range of motion and implements slow tempo and pause reps into his program. In other words, despite of how it might look, he actually does leave his ego at the door to make sure he stays in good health and gains real strenght.

People please use these videos to improve yourself (and check out Jonnie Candito's amazing lifts). Leave the ego at the door and do the exercises with perfect form. If you do thouse two very simple things, one day YOU will be able to lift impressive amounts of weight AND with perfect form.

It's amazing how many people do half squats either because they are more concerned with the weight or they were never taught proper squat technique to begin with. I was a victim of this in my earlier lifting days but not anymore :-)

I can honestly say I only used to do half squats, trying to do as much weight as possible.

Now, I focus on full range of motion, going ASS TO GRASS!

Squats and bicep curls are two exercises where lots of people go for heavy weights, but don't use proper form.

Yeah I used to use as much weight as I could but I only went to about 90 degrees and became proud as F... Obviosly this is a very weak achivment which is something I understand now.

Using perfect form will in the end lead to a whole lot stronger legs.

Yeah people at my gym throw on 45 pound plates on a bar and try to curl it, their back is almost falling backwards to the ground (No I am not kidding).

Yeah most people are victims of thinking that weight is important when it comes to building a great body. After lifting for a while with perfect form, strenght will follow automatically and lead to more impressive weights, without actually lifting with ego.

I was recovering from surgeries over the summer and had been going to the traditional gym (I am a Crossfitter/Oly lifter) to use the machines as part of my rehab. I was shocked at the awful forms I saw there, particularly the squats! My knees hurt just to watch some of those people! Squats are fundamental, and should always be done properly.
