Hey folks! This is my first post on the forums.
So recently I had to sit 3 weeks out of the gym, no exercise, nothing to raise my H/R up more than standard. As I had caused myself injury from bad form. I was squatting at the gym (first time squatting with weight on a smith machine) and I guess my form was bad as I managed to rip/tear a muscle in the back of my neck that goes into my head. Instantly I got splitting pain down the right side of my head/neck, it made me dizzy and felt nauseous, when I was at home I got splitting headaches just from reaching down, or running up the stairs. The doctor informed me it was the blood flow increasing in the vein alongside the muscle causing it to put pressure on the injury causing the "exertion headaches".
So my main point of this post is 3 things, Firstly; If you get a splitting headache (so bad you feel dizzy) then get outta the gym and take time out! Secondly; Don't lift something you don't know how to (I learnt that the bad way) and third.... can anyone help me with my squat technique?? lol !
