Hey everyone! :D

I'm new here, so forgive me if I'm posting this in the wrong thread. But anyway... I have been working out for almost one and a half year now, but only been following a proper routine since July 2013. I have been using a training program called X-Size since then, and I am really happy with the results. I have gained 10kg (22 pounds), and almost doubled my maximum benchpress, dumbbell shoulder press and squats. (Thank you Scott for the amazing tutorials!) Even though I like the X-Size routine, I feel the need to try something new! :D

I decided I would try Scott Herman's training routine. (This one http://www.bsnonline.net/training/scott_herman.html)

Now, I know this might be a little too advanced for a beginner like me, but I like challenges. So I think I'm just going to try it, and see how it goes!

My question:

Under Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday it says

  • Focus on 4 exercises to hit upper and lower abs
  • Focus on 4 exercises to hit lower abs and obliques

Does this mean that I need to add 4 exercises (per day) that hits lower/upper abs or obliques depending on which day it is? If so, I was wondering if someone had some tips on which exercises I should chose for the specific days, and how many reps & sets I should do on those exercises?

Oh and by the way, if someone else has tried this routine I would like to know what you think of it, and how long it usually takes to complete the daily routine :D

All help is appreciated! :D

Good night from Norway! :)

Training for abs is simple, but complicate....u can do 3 times at week full abs workout,or to do 2/2 system....2 days uper/2 days lower....im worked 3 times, but now i going to force my abs to grow with some hard reps.....and work 2/2 system....its great...but dont forget to put in training upper abs and obliques, and lower abs and obliques, just plan your workout and do it!! :)

This site is great!! Here can ahieve more experience and datebase of excersize than any other forums....in future i going to be one of most actived members of such a great site...and respect good friend Scott,he is done great job here, thanks for that Scott!! Hth!! :)

For this typical split that Scott has up on BSN online.net it should only take you about 60-90 minutes to complete each workout. This split is actually great because you can train with full intensity each day because each muscle group is getting 7 days rest in between sessions. As far as abs go I prefer training them either 2 days on and 1 day off or every other day. I train my abs in there entirety each time. So that means every ab workout I target upper, middle, lower, and obliques.
