{Before you read this, i dont agree at all with steroid useage, or people affiliated with the drugs, this is just a topic that struck my interest}

So yesterday at the gym, some total gym douchebag (He was doing those squats where the bar moves 2 inches down and up) was talking to me about how he done some 8 hour 16 shake workout. I had no idea what he was on about, so i checked it online and found it was the known juicer Rich Piana's workout.

Obviously this workout is designed for people with steroids dripping from every oriface, but i was wondering if it might actually have some benefit of overshocking the muscles for a natty lifter.

I know it screams "snapcity" and probably a bit stupid but it would be interesting to see what the outcome is! Im not a guy to look for a quick fix, but it seems like a cool kinda challenge for a natty guy, not that i have 8 hours to piss away in a single day haha!

Basically for anyone who is unaware of this, like i was, its an 8 hour bicep and tricep workout, made up of 16 x 30min mini workouts. Upon completing a miniworkout you neck a small protein shake and so on. From what i gather, its like an 8 hour drop set!

Obviously i know you wanna get in and out the gym in around an hour, after that things start to go south, but it seems like a cool challenge!

Calum,

Besides all the obvious stuff you stated already, I personally would not recommend any workout of this lenght and volume to a natural lifter. You may be able to do it one time for shits and giggles but definitely not something to incorporate. The sheer time and volume will send cortisol levels thru the roof and do so much muscle fiber damage it would require at least 1 week or more of not training the targeted muscle group to heal.

Rich Piana, even with all his juicing, has never won any major show like the Mr.Olympia. Just like Bostin Lloyd, these guys think drugs build champions and there is more to it than that :-)

Haha of course, like I'd have the time to incorporate an 8 hour workout in! I think it would be interesting to see if I could push myself through it however I don't wanna end up in hospital with burn out elbows 😋 Im curious to how for example maybe a 4 hour version could effect future growth, after doing it once

I assume one would have to train with less then 50 % capacity during the whole time in order to pull it off. And most likely a intense superset hour would be more then enough to burn out all you got in your arms. Try super sets with ez-bar wide and close grip and after that do spider curls 8 reps each set and no rest and at normal weight (that you can do 8 reps max)and do 4-5 sets with only 30 sec rest between sets for biceps and then to triceps push down with wide grip followed by close grip and then reversed grip as heavy as you can for 8 reps on each for 4-5 sets if against all odds you got power left do close grip bench and reveaed grip bench superset 8 reps for a couple of sets and I bet you will feel exhausted.

I always do that triceps routine on my triceps days it sure burns like hell afterwards. I only load up about 40-45 kg in the cable cross while doing them and for the bench afterwards 40 kg on the close and reverse .

My main concern with this 8 hour workout would be sustaining an injury while doing it. Specifically an overuse injury like medial epicondylitis or an acute injury like a bicep or triceps strain. Then you'd be our of commission for a while then you're gains would really suffer.
