Hi,
I was wandering if anyone of you ever used to drink tea right before a workout, and how good it is compared to drinking coffee. I know that many people advise to drink coffee, but my intestine doesn't like it too much, and I wondered if I can instead use tea, which is fine with my body.

Well obviously tee contains way less caffeine than coffee, so I would not use it as a pre workout. But then again I do not use anything as a pre workout. If it works for you, then keep doing it of course.

I've drank green tea and taken a tablespoon of cocunut oil about 30 minutes before my workout for the last few weeks and have noticed I have a lot more energy going into and during my workout.

You can definitely do that! Green tea is extremely similar to coffee and it might be easier on your intestines. If you find that the caffeine it contains is not enough, just up the dosage :)
Also, awesome to see that you are a black belt on Ju Jitsu! I am on my 2nd year of Aikido training and I m loving it!

Leslie,
Most definitely! I drink a couple of cups of green tea as well as some coconut oil as a pre-workout. Green tea has more health benfits than coffee and is easier on the digestive system :-)

Thank you all for the replies! I'll start using green tea pre-workout.

hey! just came across this. I actually brew loose leaf tea before my workouts as a pre-workout. its a combination of black tea, green tea and oolong tea. I chill it the night before then mix my creatine and BCAAs into it and drink it while I get ready. I get crazy energy during the workout AND sweat my butt off! I don't know why the person above said tea has less caffeine than coffee, if you get the right teas, the oppositve of that is true :)

Tea does nothing for me but keep headaches away lol. Maybe because I've been drinking it everyday since I was a teen. I don't find it has the same kick as coffee. That being said if I go on a coffee binge and drink it daily my body gets use to it and that also loses its buzz. are you drinking it in an empty stomach? That is the death of me if I don't eat with a coffee lol
