From what I can see in your pic everything looks fine. If one side is a little bigger than the other which I gather is your left then you must be left handed and use your left side of your body more? It's possible you have an imbalance which is normal for many people. Keep training, things will eventually even out. You can use s a barbell or dumbbells. Dumbells will give you a better stretch and keep you from using one side more than the other like you could do with a barbell. As for the pain is it like a stabbing pain during your workout or a stretching feel? Or are you speaking to always getting sore from a workout? Do you stretch and warm up before you lift?

I have been training coming up on 6 years and have made some great gainz. I've done a lot of trial and error on myself as well as learned from others and through research online. I've come along way in strength and size since I've started. I will continue to learn and make myself better each day. Great advice from @Adawg38.

Are you left or right handed? Some muscle parts are due to one side being stronger than the other side.

BB bench press and DB press are both good chest workout but they also differ in some point. BB bench press is a great chest exercise, you can stimulate maximum growth of your chest here. You can load a tons of weight in BB workout that will surely destroy your chest than DB, but it allows the strong side to compensate for the weak side since they are joined by the bar.

Have you tried doing dumbell chest workout? Dumbells force each side to work independently. The weak side can not be assisted by the strong side so meaning to say both side will work base on strength. With DB, you can perform the FULL ROM (range of motion) more effectively than BB which also stress more pectoral fibers because your chest has to not only raise the weight but also keep the weight from falling to the side.

The CONCLUSION :

BB is great for mass as you can load tons of weight on the bar. DBs are great for overall chest development and to fix any muscle imbalances or strength weakness.

For basic tips!

Macros is always first thing to consider for serious muscle growth. Then on your actual lifting, correct form and movement is very important. stimulate your whole chest to create a pressing movement ( TEMPO ), with that movement you supposed to apply the“ time under tension” which supports muscle growth.

You should have this Mind/muscle connection! Squeeze your chest as hard as you can at the top of each rep., feel the impact and you will get a great pump. Maintain the rest times between sets around 45 - 60 seconds. You may also want to try supersets and drop sets to stimulate growth.

Hope thats help!

Mike

What's your macros look like ( carbs, protein and fat in grams )? Your workout routine? Sometimes most people are working so hard in their training but NUTRITION aren't given mush attention. Real Growth comes from our nutrition.

Bojan,

It is pure genetics. Muscle shape, fiber composition, and reaction to training are geneticaly determined. I am right-handed and have been training with DBs for over 25 years yet my left pec is bigger and thicker than my right pec. There is only so much you can do to shape a muscle. All you can do is focus on enough volume and types of exercises that will stress all fibers and both sides of muscles equally. Nobody is 100% symmetrical and for those who are very close are just gifted genetically.

Despite the popular misconceptions to the contrary, the human body is not symetrical.

While the body is bilaterally symetrical, this does not mean that your assorted body parts will be the same size.

Many women and man can also see this with their chest, with one breast /chestside being slightly larger. It usually is the left side, the side where the heart is. As things on the left side are closer to the heart, and a tiny bit more nourished with blood while we grow up. Also the position we had in our mother's belly plays a bit of a role. And the mere fact that we grow from the middle, and nature is already almost close to perfect doing so, by at least not letting one side of us being 2 times as big as the other, hehe :)

It could of course also come from an issue in your posture. But that's hard to say as long as we don't have an image where both arms are down and you'd stand fully relaxed.

Generally i'd say you are 17, that means you are in a better position to balance things still out, with consistant training. (Meaning your body is still partially in deveopement, compared to someone who'd try to correct things with being much older - they have it a bit harder of course)

And as the others already said, with training that challenges both sides equally. Over time one side will cope up with the other :)

I'd have to agree with John on this one, it probably comes down to genetics.

The only question I would have is do you find yourself pushing one dumbbell up faster than the other? E.g does your left arm get to the top of the movement before your right?

About your macros...according to my calculations you are a bit off with your intake.

99g Fat = 891 calories

196g carbs = 784 calories

212g Protein = 848 calories

Total = 2523 calories

Is that the number you meant to type?

Oh ok. So in that case your macros must look a bit different now, right? If you're looking to for weight loss, did you reduce your carbs?

As for your chest, so maybe it is just mirrors haha. You could try and get someone to takea photo of you front on, that way you don't have to deal with mirrors being on angles or anything. A front on photo would probably prove whether or not one side is different to the other, or if it just looks that way depending on angles etc.

Hope that helps!
