Hey everyone,

Not sure where to post this thread, but I guess that the muscle gains one is the most appropriate. So, I just completed the LMS and feel better and look better than ever! Pretty excited and proud about this. I increased the weight on all exercises every week.

So out of curiosity, I wanted to get concrete stats on this improvement by getting my body composition measured with the inBody machine, allegedly the most accurate fat measurement device out there (http://www.shape.com/weight-loss/weight-loss-strategies/best-and-worst-ways-measure-body-fat/slide/7). I was pretty surprised and disappointed when I got the results: no changes, only a 0.2kg increase in muscle mass.

So can anyone tell me more about this? Am I just convincing myself that I look better or is there another explanation as to why my clothes seem to fit me better allover. I'm hoping there's something like the muscle is adhering better to the fat or something...

Oh, BF is 14.7% and I weigh 70kg.

Thank you :-)

Aims: Fat loss. Just finished the LMS, will now start a slow cut and attempt to follow the LMS as much as possible still.

Hey @bjarki, SO AWESOME to hear about your results! before I jump into your question would you be interested in writing me a testimonial about the program and showing some before and after pics?

As far as bosyfat, calipers will be the most accurate. Machines like this can be thrown off by all kinds of things.. even if your bodyfat is TOO low, it can mess up the readings.

Overall.. don't worry much about it. It is more about how you look and feel in the mirror.

Post some shirtless pics below and we can try to guestimate your BF% too. Make sure you are flexing!

Proud of you!!!

Thank you, Scott! The programme is awesome and I would be very happy to write a testimonial. Where would you like me to write it?

Thanks for the encouragement. I will rely more on the mirror from now on and get a good pair of calipers.

Took some pictures, I just wish I had documented it better from the start! Anyway, here's from the first week of January (not flexing):

And from now (flexing):

And a link to a foto from the side (can't upload here for some reason).

As you can see, stomach is still pretty soft, which is why I'm going on a 200kcal deficit LCHF slow cut now. Thoughts?

Thanks :D

Great progress @bjarki!

You can notice a massive difference. More definition, slimmer around the waist...gains are coming in nicely!

A 200 deficit sounds pretty good. What is LCHF? Is it Low Carb High Fat? If so, that sounds like agreat idea to continue losing fat.

Keep training hard! #HTH

Sebastian,

Excellent progress! I would say you have gone from about 20% to maybe around 15% bodyfat. The most accurate bodyfat tests are either DEXA scans using X-rays or water immersion tests - regardless of what the manufacturers of bodyfat testing machines or devices say. Since both of these are costly, skin calipers when done correctly and consistently will be very accurate.

If you keep training the way you are and add a slight deficit but keep your protein and essential fats high, you will get leaner. You need to manipulate your carbs and increase the intensity of your workouts to lean out :-)

Thank you so much for the encouragement @jmboiardi and @joehurricane!! I'm totally motivated to carry on with my cutting now. And yeah, LCHF is low carb hight fat. I tried the moderate carb cut a year ago and it didn't yield impressive results... So hoping for the best now. Will keep track of my progress more accurately with calipers and better pictures in the future :-) Thanks again. Off the to the gym now
