How do you know weather the weight you put on is good weight or not. I've gone from 189 to 194 in the past 2 weeks and I'm not sure if it's good or not. I want muscle, but I want it to be toned, good looking weight.

Austin,

You kinda have answered your our own question. If you are putting on weight but you are losing muscle definition, you are gaining fat and muscle. If you put on weight and you can see muscle definition, you are losing body fat and gaining muscle.

The mirror is a good tool and probably best to figure it out aside from doing body fat tests.

You will know whether or not you are happy with the changes you can see.

Hey Austin

Just like other said if you are gaining weight but not gettinf that much muscle definition then you are gaining both fat and muscle (more or less in equal terms) but if your gaining weight and you feel more muscle definition and also you are losing fat around chest, and abdomen area then you are losing body fat and gaining muscle (lean gains).

Do check your measurements after regular intervals and give your body a thorough look infront of the mirror to see if your workout routine and diet are working properly or not (muscle definition and fat loss). If you aren't satisfied with your results then something is wrong with your diet (macros) or your workout routine or both so you will need to check it and make some amendments.

Like everyones said, the mirror is a great tool. I can tell when I gain fat the easiest in my abs when I start to lose definition. I know I gain muscle most weeks but I do also gain fat. I weigh myself every week, same time, first thing in the morning before I am dressed or have eaten. I also have an electronic hand held bf tester $35, which I use to calculate bf. None of it's a 100% but it's a great way for me to calculate muscle gain and bf increase or decrease.

I have been training coming up on 6 years and have made some great gainz. I've done a lot of trial and error on myself as well as learned from others and through research online. I've come along way in strength and size since I've started. I will continue to learn and make myself better each day. MS Athlete/Super Hermanite BEING CHALLENGED IN LIFE IS INEVITABLE, BEING DEFEATED IS OPTIONAL.
