What does De-load mean?

By Scott Herman in General Questions · Published

DE-LOADING means to reduce the amount of work you are doing in the gym.

This may involve fewer workouts during the week, fewer sets or reps than normal, or lifting less weight than normal.

Your CNS takes a beating when you workout regularly, particularly if you are working out at a high intensity and/or lifting heavy weights.

Because of this, it is important to give your CNS a rest every now and then to ensure your muscles have time to recover and keep growing.

A good method to follow is to implement a de-load week every 6-8 weeks.
