Should I use straps when powerlifting?

By Scott Herman in Strength / Power Training · Published

Using straps is a personal decision, which can be good and bad.

When you use straps, you will likely be able to lift heavier weights, which will benefit your strength training.

However, using straps will stop you from using your own strength, especially in your FOREARMS. Your forearms are used for most exercises, so it is advisable to use straps rarely.

Chalk is a better aid for strength training. It will give you a solid grip and allow you to lift weight with your own strength.
