Should I train while sick?

By Scott Herman in Injuries · Published

If you are sick, take a break from the weights.

REST is just as important to body building as the training and eating. If you don't give your body enough time to rest and recover, you will be doing more harm than good.

If you train while sick, your body will not only be fighting to lift the weights, but also to keep your virus under control.

Take maybe 2-3 days off depending on how sick you are. If you get struck down badly, you may have to take a week off or even more.

Remember to keep eating properly while sick, or you will risk losing weight - fat and muscle. Ease yourself back into the gym too, don't go balls to the wall as soon as you are feeling better.
