How important is the deadlift?

The deadlift is one of the most important exercises you can perform.

Firstly, you typically lift the most amount of weight with the deadlift, therefore it is probably the most important exercise for gaining strength.

The deadlift works many different muscle groups - your core, glutes, forearms, and lower back are some of the biggest muscles used, while others such as the biceps and quads are also used if only slightly.

It provides you with overall development, and can increase your OVERALL mass and strength.

PROPER FORM is vitally important though. If done incorrectly, the consequences can be severe.
