How can I avoid elbow injuries doing skullcrushers?
Warm-up or alter your form.
If you do warm-up sets with a very light weight, this will also help. It will loosen the ELBOW joint and warm-up the fluid in the joint to help your bones move about more smoothly.
You can also try changing the way you perform skullcrushers. If you bring the bar down to your forehead, it will put more pressure on your elbows.
If you lower it behind your head, your elbows will not come under so much pressure. However, this way you will also not get quite as much tricep activation.
