It's late at night and you recently returned home from the gym after a super intense workout. You have already consumed your post workout meal which should be your last meal before you go to bed. However, your sweet tooth has other ideas planting thoughts and images in your brain of sugary treats that it would like you to have. What is the Solution? Great tasting, low calorie ice-cream!

Cooking Instructions

Ingredients:

  • Ice
  • Egg Whites
  • Whey Protein Isolate (Cookies & Cream Flavor)

Directions:

  1. Take two large ice cubes (Or 4-6 small ice cubes) and place them in the blender.
  2. Add 2 Scoops of your whey protein Isolate. I am using Biotech USA´s Whey Protein Isolate (gluten free, Cookies & Cream flavor).
  3. Pour 1 cup of egg whites and add this to the ice cubes and protein powder that is in the blender.
  4. Turn on the blender and continue to blend until the texture of the mixture starts to thicken.
  5. Once the mixture has thickened to your preference, turn off the blender and pour the contents of the ice-cream into a Tupperware container.
  6. Once you have done this simply place the Tupperware into the freezer and leave it for 3-4 hours.
  7. After 3-4 hours take it out of the freezer.
  8. Optional – Add fruit such as frozen banana or strawberries to the mixture instead of ice before blending (remember that doing this would compromise the overall macros/calories).
  9. Enjoy!

It is very easy to give in to sweet cravings and grab any sugary treat that you can find when frantically rummaging through your kitchen cupboards. However, if you are like me and often find yourself fighting the sweet tooth temptations whatever time of day it might be, my advice is to be prepared and make low-calorie dessert snacks like this one which are high in protein, in ADVANCE! This will reduce the likelihood of you falling off your meal plan and neglecting your diet/macro goals.
