Good evening!

I've been dealing with stomach pain the past three months. After an endoscopic exam and a sonogram, I was diagnosed with a hiatal hernia and gastritis. Basically, part of my stomach is in my chest cavity. My GI has me on a strict low fodmap diet in where I can't have certain fruits like apples and vegetables like tomatoes, nothing lactose, no gluten and no wheat for the next six weeks. Really hard to follow.

Anyways, my question is if I were to go back to the gym and workout, what exercises should I avoid at all costs?

Well I would avoid all the compound exercises that increase intra-abdominal pressure such as squat, deadlift, pull up etc. My honest advice would be to avoid the gym as every exercise relies on core stability which is aided by increased intra-abdominal pressure which can be detrimental to your condition. Hope this helps and I wish you a speedy recovery.

Hey Adrian,

I agree with Daniel, definitely take some time off.

But in the mean time you can tweak your meal plan to ensure you keep bodyfat levels down.

I just posted a video that will help you out a lot. Hope you heal up soon! #HTH

Thanks Scott and Daniel! I was already on the path of taking time off. I just needed some reassurance from professionals like you guys. I saw your video Scott and I found it very informative. So thank you! I really appreciate these responses. #SupersaiyansTrainHarder
