Hi Scott, hope you are having a great day.

My question is, are knee wraps neccesary for squatting? Im 23 years old and currently squatting around 135 to 130 Kg every week for 5 reps aprox. To one would consider an RPE 8-9

With back off sets of 105-110 Kg of Pause Squats. There is no knee pain whatosever, but I do sometimes feel some more support on my knees could help.

@Jtv08 Hey Jose!

I wouldn't say they are neccesary, but they can definitely help! Even knee sleeves, doesn't necessarily have to be knee wraps. I actually made a video about using knee sleeves properly which I'll link to below.

I would say at this stage, you're probably safe without them. As long as you're maintaining proper form and having your knees track out, that's the main thing. But maybe you could invest in either wraps or sleeves to try them out and see if it feels better. I never used to use sleeves but I pretty ALWAYS use them now. Just makes my knees feel super warm and tight and supported. All in all I'd say it's worth a try!
