Looking for advice on foods and supplements that will help tendons heal and recover. I have a a tendon in my hip region that is giving me issues. My age is probably a factor too. But this is hindering my squat workouts. I am taking extra rest too.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Omega-3 fatty foods like fish and seeds and nuts will probably help a bit. The main thing will be rest. If you have been training heavy for a while as well, maybe take a deload week to take some stress off your body.

Good advice Scott and I just now see it lol I guess I did the right thing. I havnt even looked at fitness stuff online.

I took a reload week actually 8 days. Ate clean got good sleep and I’m a new man.

I got too focused and making gains in my ATG squats and my deadlifts. It was time to regroup.

Tonight im gonna get back to it .

Nice one Mike. You'll be able to hit it again all guns blazing after 8 days of recovery! It sucks sometimes, but you do have to give your body a decent amount of rest now and then to actually keep moving forward.

"Udo's Oil" is a good source of omega 3,6 and 9 that may benefit you. I had a friend that took two tablespoons of the oil a day in addtion to good natural food sources for 4 weeks and recovered quicker than expected post Shoulder Surgery. I have taken it myself. Great for pouring on food or mixing in smoothies/protein shakes. If you decide to purchase this product I advise to buy the lquid oil as opposed to capsules and never buy off the shelf only from the refridgerator.

I hope this adivce helps :)

Besides omega 3 fatty acids and anti-inflammatory foods, you also want to eat more sulphur containing foods like garlic and onions. Sulphur is a key building block of both cartilage and connective tissues like tendons and ligaments. These foods also are high in naturally occurring glucosamine and chondroitin which are used to build connective tissue.
