Jack I'm not too familiar with the afterburn effect, what is it?
Here's Omar Isuf talking about it. I wouldn't believe a lot of stuff Mike Chang says. He does give SOME good information, but most of the things he says is to get you into buying his products. I mean, he did "Intensity Week" just to promote his new supplement. If you watch him, just watch his videos for the routines.
Well it does seem to be that Mike Chang is the same as those types of people in commercials that just try to sell their products. As I've watched some of his videos and it just has that "commercial" feel to it, as if he wants to trick you in some way.
He's a bit too animated for my tastes but what he says constitutes EPOCH is spot on.

The "Afterburn Effect" is his BS marketing man. If anything what it refers to is the "jumpstart" you get on burning calories after a hardcore workout due to elevating your heartrate for a long prioud of time. This is nothing new, but he packages it in such a way to let you believe it is his secret.
If your macros are spot on and you are training hard, doing cardio, and eating right.. you have already experienced this "Afterburn effect" many times. #HTH
Your methabolism is responsible for burning calories regularly and the so called afterburned effect has always existed. The best way to activate it is thru regular cardio and short but very instense HIT training (or curcuit training styles and so on). The rest is BS
Do Scott's drop/burn sets and you'll feel the afterburn effect!!!
For me HiiT does work better than less dynamic, longer duration cardio, why not try Tabata intervals? They'll make a bitch of your aerobic capacity, work your heart and fit nicely in at the end of a work out. They've also been around far longer than Mike Chang and his old theories dressed up in new clothes.
