I was always confident that the dumbbell bench press was superior to building muscle, but after researching this video I realized that all the back and forth between the dumbbell and barbell was just holding back my gains because the dumbbells are OVER 9000 SUPERIOR!

Check out my latest video and I would LOVE LOVE LOVE some suggestions from you guys as to what you want to see next!

I do 3-6 sets of 8 barbell flat and incline each as warm up for 3-5 sets of flat/incline dumbbells followed by same amount of sets dumbbell flies every chest day. Sometimes I throw in pec deck machine and cable cross some sets to for extra burn.

You know I have been doing dumbells exclusively for chest for 25 years. I throw in some BB benchpress every once in a while but I have always known DBs are great for building a chest and BB press is best for strength.

I will say, the pec deck is awesome for a nice stretch on chest day!

Im pretty new but from what I've been taught I do BB for strenth first as a core compound and then I switch over to dumbbells for growth

Are you tucking your elbows in so you can lower them all the way down?

yeah you can do like a 7,7,6,4,3 rep range on the barbell for strength.. then go into working sets with dumbbell bench for high volume!
