So I calculated my BMR and I understand what it is. My resting is 2159 and 2915 when in motion for light excercise and 3347 in the moderate exercise range. My question has two parts. At the moment i work out three times a week putting me in the light excercise bracket but when i start the 12 week challenge (monday) it is 5 days a week putting me in the moderate bracket. So which bracket do I belong in so i know what to eat. Secondly, lean gains I eat between 250-500cal above my BMR. Is that my BMR at rest or when in motion and can someone explain what the BMR when in motion is.

Thankyou

When u start 12 week challenge you eat accordingly to that, which would be 5 days a week.

When doing lean gains you should eat a bit above ur BMR which would likely be 250-500 cal like you said. BMR in motion is what you need to eat on the days you train. I personally do not eat differently when resting, unless I am on a rest week.

Thankyou for the reply. So just clarifying, I eat the 3347 cal which is my BMR in motion. Just asking as that is far more than the 250-500 for lean gains

I actually eat roughly the same amount of calories and it seems to be working perfectly for me. The only way to make sure if it works or not is to try it for a while, if you start getting fat you should lower the calories a bit, or simply do more cardio and keep the calories (this is what I would do).
