Hey guys, I'm a beginner in lifting (3-4 months) And I can definitely see some results. Now I still have a little belly fat which blocks the view the abs. Which I hope are down there somewhere. I obviously need to lose weight. Now someone told me that losing fat by simply eating less is just as efficient as doing cardio. Is this true? By eating less you lose muscle right?

Hey hey!
Great question. Now this highly depends on your diet as of now. For example, if you are eating TOO much (calorie surplus = eating more calories than you are burning in a day) then yes, eating less will help you burn some fat.
But if you are already eating properly (if youdont know your macros you can use the @mealplan calculator) then it may be time to introduce some cardio.
Personally, I like to do 2 - 3 sessions of HIIT cardio a week for 15 - 20 minutes each.
This kind of cardio works like this.
1 minute jog - 1 minute run and repeat for 15 - 20 minutes.
What are your current daily macros and calories?

Keeping cardio in the routine while cutting down or bulking up is ideal. It is important to keep your heart healthy by doing cardio vascular workouts a few time a week. As Scott said, HIT is something I love doing to keep my metabolism levels up. Another idea to squeeze in cardio is morning walks/light jogs. First thing in the morning as soon as you wake up put your shoes on and do 30 minutes of walking or light jogging fasted. This not only burns extra calories but also wakes up your brain and gets that blood flow going! Good luck with your journey!

Hey! you can also follow intermittent fasting for a calorie deficit. It's a great way to cut while being in a deficit without starving, I myself follow it and it helped me to cut while gaining muscle mass, keeping hormonal and minerals in balance. It mainly includes skipping your breakfast and have your first meal 5 hours later you wake up in the morning. you can have one or two cup of black coffee (no sugar) in between to keep you from the urge of eating. Do not take more than two cups of coffee in a day. take a 20% deficit divide it into two big meals of the day, lunch and dinner.
If you do strength training thrice a week, you should include steady-state or HIIT cardio workouts in rest days (20-30 min/day), mix it up and enjoy.
