Hello everyone,

after posting some concerns I have, I was told to try carb cycling to help me with my fat loss program.

Im 5'7

29 age

1 year bodybuilding

87-86 kg ( need to update on that)

bodyfat ( not sure but guessing between 20-25)

according to the calculator here I can lose weight in the 2450-2750 range

I chose 2500..for the following reason but i may decrease the intensity of my workouts, since Ive been doing (4 days of supersets+30 sec of Hiit between all sets )and 2 days of HIIT on non workout days

This is what I came up with

High carb day- 200 grams of protein/ 290 grams of carbs/ 68 grams of fats

Medium carb days- 230g pro/ 196g carbs/ 88g of fats

low carb days- 260g of protein/ 150g carbs/ 88 grams of fats

Planning on H, M, L, H, M, L, L

Reason why I will not keep the intensity of my workouts is because I can not eat more protein than 260...or I will just vomit unless I bring my fats a little bit more to be in the 2600 range...but wouldnt that interfere with the fat burning?

anyways, any thoughts, comments, experience, will be appreciate, thanks!!!!

Jorge,

Carb cycling is an effective tool but you can make it simpler. Simply eat more carbs on your workout days and less on your rest days. Forget the high, medium, and low days as it is difficult to track and follow and the low days have the potential of forcing the body into survival mode. I eat my target carb macro goal on my workout days (about 160g of carbs) and I cut it down to about 100-120g on non-workout days. Occassionally, I will have a re-feed day where I eat about 200g of carbs and my body tells me when it wants one as I get very hungry and hanker for some rice or other carbs :-)

Pretty much man.

So you could take your medium carb day and use that on your workout days, then use your low carb day for non-workout days.
