I'm making chicken tenderloins and marinating half a bag with a 38oz jar of organic salsa and cooking it with the salsa, it says 2g of sugar per serving for about 30 or so servings I believe,

this sugar isn't bad since it's natural from tomatoes right?

I kind of have an issue with gerd, but eating fresh salsa or organic foods usually doesn't trigger this ulcer and vomiting feeling i usually feel when i eat fast food,

besides the tomatoes issue, the sugar in the organic salsa isn't gonna break out my acne or spike my insulin?

William,

Anything in a jar or a bag is processed regardless if it says "organic" or not. Most "organic" foods are processed foods with "organic" ingredients to fool people into thinking they are healthier. "organic" does not mean "healthy" all the time. The sugar in the salsa is not from the tomatoes. Check the ingredients and you will find it listed as any of the following:

1) Sugar

2) Cane Sugar

3) High Fructose Corn Syrup

4) Corn Syrup

5) Organic cane sugar

6) Maltodextrin

7) Dextrose

If you see any of these names, it is processed sugar and should be avoided. Also, manufacturers are required to list the ingredients from most to least so if any form of sugar is listed in the first 3 ingredients is has too much sugar. Serving sizes are deceptive and is how manufacturers legally get around listing high amounts of sugar and fat. I highly doubt you are using 1 serving as defined by the package. Typical serving sizes are 5-10 times what is on the label. At 38oz and 30 servings per jar, 1 serving is probably a teaspoon not a tablespoon or several tablespoons.

I get the costco organic salsa and mix it with chicken?

It would be 38g of sugar spread within a week's worth of chicken so about 5g of sugar per day, do you think this is bad and i should find a different salsa, i havent seen a salsa with 0g of sugar even at whole foods?

Don't be fooled r into thinking anything with the 'organic' label on is good for you. It means the product has been produced without the use of chemicals ie pesticides or man made fertilisers. Although some chemicals are plant based!!!!

So in the fact it has been produced without the use of chemicals it should be better for you, but not in the amoun of sugar / salt in the product.

Motivated the SHF way.... Train mean, eat clean = results!!! BOOM!! #HTH... Twitter @ian_higson

Avoid all added sugars. I would not use this salsa. Regardless of how "little" sugar you think is in there, it all adds up and added sugars are not natural to begin with. If you want to get lean, you need to get any sugar naturally from whole fruits and vegetables.
