Hey guys, since a couple of days I have pain in the top of my forearm (a little under my elbow).

Now the pain isn't unbarable and I have been continuing my workouts, but now and then when I make some kind of movement I get a sharp sting into my forearm and I have no clue if it's a muscle or a bone which is hurting. it's a really annoying pain and not sure what to do about it. Should I work through it and hope it goes away? Go to the doctor? or save some time and go straight to the hospital to make some x-rays?

If you could post a anatomical picture of the forearm/elbow with an arrow pointing to exactly where your pain is that would help loads.

Really didn't know the exact spot at first. But after tapping alot of my arm, this is the spot that hurts.

The pain is actually pretty bad when I tap it But during my trainings so far I never had those sharp pains, only a little bit when i'm done with an exercise.

What movements bring on your pain?

This one hurts the most, also the kind of "pushing" motion you make when taking off your socks.

And in the gym it hurts the most when doing triceps exercises.

You seem to indicate point tenderness at the common insertion site for the wrist extensors and pain with arm extension and prontation. Maybe read a little about "lateral epicondylitis" (sometimes called Tennis elbow). Seeing a doctor is always a good idea. In the US, a family practice physician who specializes in sports medicine would be able to help you. I do not know what the equivalent would be in the Netherlands...

Yeah.. I went to the doctor today.

It's not a tennis elbow, but something similair to it.. he couldn't really tell.

All he said was that it's 'probably' a tendon which is irritating a bit, and I need to rest with my arm.

I'm just going to finish this week's workout, and take next week off.. (still doing legs and abs tho!)

and hope there is some improvement after 1 week.

Have you tried seeing a massage therapyst who specializes in athletes? It might be worthing spending the 65$ for an hour session and have them poke around your arms, shoulders, and back to see if they can loosen anything up.

Believe me, you will be surprised what they can do if they are good. Pain in your forearm can originate from many other places.

Never done that, my injury is gone now thanks to a good week of rest.

I might try that for my back tho!
