I suffer from complex regional pain syndrome in my right leg. Exercising for me isn't always easy and the pain is generally much greater the day after if I aggravate the nerves to much in my leg. Trying to stay at my goal weight has been a challenge over the past few years after being diagnosed (a year later). :/ My neurologist banned me from returning to the gym, riding my bike and running was definitely crossed off the list of approved activities. Since there isn't a whole lot of information out there about successful treatments and therapies, none of my doctors really know which activities to allow me to do, and which are forbidden. I have tried in the past to slowly return to activities I love, but over did it at one point and aggravated the crps in my leg to the point that is started spreading to by abdomen and lower back. With a series of spinal blocks they were able to reverse the spreading. But once again, I was put on restrictions. So.....here I am again....2 years later.....trying to return to activities. If anyone out there has Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, or even Fibromyalgia is similar, I would love to brain storm with you on ideas, treatments you have tried, etc... Thanks!
