If you are craving a sweet treat, you don’t need to blow up your diet and eat a 1000 calorie cupcake loaded with sugar and saturated fat. Instead, try these peanut butter banana snacks! They are a good source of unsaturated (healthy) fats as well as potassium, fiber, iron and vitamin C. They are not only decadent, but also satisfying and are a great way to replenish your energy after a hard workout.

Cooking Instructions
Ingredients:
1 large banana
1 tablespoon of peanut butter
1 tablespoon of sliced almonds (also called laminated almonds)
A splash of cocoa nibs (you can also us semi-sweet chocolate chips)
A dollop of fat free whipped cream for decoration (optional)
Directions:
Peel the banana and cut it in half lengthwise.
Then cut each half in the middle producing a total of 4 pieces of banana.
Spread the peanut butter all over each piece of the banana. Make sure the peanut butter is nice and soft or this step will be tricky.
Sprinkle the laminated almond on top of the peanut butter.
Finally, sprinkle the cocoa nibs (or chocolate chips) on top.
Arrange the banana nicely in a plate and add a dollop of fat free whipped cream as the final touch.
Enjoy!
