    Do I have bad genetics

My shoulder width to waist ratio is horrible and not something I am proud of. If measured correctly I measure at 20 inches shoulder width and 13 inches waist. I’m upset. What are your opinions? Is my potential bad for bodybuilding? I’m not sure if it’s my body fat that is making it look bad or if it’s just really bad.

I’m currently sitting at 156 lbs.

@loadingcosta You look awesome man! You don't look bad at all and having a 7 inch difference between your shoulders and waist is great! From that photo you're noticably wider in the shoulders and sure, you might not have a crazy v-taper like some people, but not everyone is blessed with a tiny, tiny waist (myself included). You have to work with and be proud of what you have man and there would be plenty of people out there who wish they had the same ratio as you!

Be confident and just keep building the best body YOU can!

@scott_herman Thank you Scott for the reply and motivation. I guess ever since I did the FitnessGenes genetic test I just ended up unmotivated.

I’m predisposed to being overweight. Im predisposed to heart disease and type II diabetes. My muscle growth gene is low. My growth and strength potential is extremely low. I have just low motivation. I been trying to cut too. I’m currently consuming 1800-1900 calories daily and I run 4-6 miles day on top of my weight lifting and I can’t seem to break my body fat%. I’m consistently stuck on the 165-168 zone and can’t break it. It’s beyond depressing. If I have one little cheat meal like fries or a burger than the next day I put on a couple pounds. Granted water but still it’s beyond frustrating how easy it seems for my body to gain weight. Sorry for the sympathy and sob story sir. Just needed to vent

@loadingcosta Try to use all of that as motivation - just because it says it on paper, that could be your goal to try and prove it all wrong! You can't change the bone growth probably, but things like being pre-disposed to heart disease, it can be a goal to make sure that doesn't happen by keeping yourself as fit and healthy as possible. If your growth and strength potential is low, make that a major focus - run periods of hypertrophy and periods of strength and give it your all - prove it all wrong!

As for your diet, what are your macros at the moment?

I appreciate the motivation sir. I’m going to try my best to do so and I will say whenever I tried to go on a bulk I always seemed to just gain fat and not muscle. Never really was a successful bulk and that always led me not wanting to bulk anymore. I never really ended up cut either. It’s sad honestly.

I’m going to focus on what you recommend. Really all I want is to be sitting at 175lbs at 10-12% body fat. I’m not really sure if it’s realistic or not but that would be my goal.

my current macros are as follows sir

    Protein: 160g

    Carbs: 150g

    Fat: 70g

@loadingcosta Of course that is realistic bro! It's great that you have that goal set in your mind so you can work towards it!

What kind of results are you seeing with those current macros? Weight loss? Muscle gain? Maintaining?

You have a very good body, I don’t know why you are worried. Your shoulders are wider than your waist, so everything is fine with you. If you engage in bodybuilding, then lose that excess weight that is and the waist will decrease in volume, and the shoulders will look wider on the contrary, so you can not worry about this, but go to the gym and achieve the result you want!
You have a good diet, there may be a problem in the training system. Try to consult with a trainer in the gym so that he selects the right program for you to achieve the desired result.
Also, pay attention to sports nutrition - this is a very effective way to transform your body, the main thing is to consult a doctor before using it for any contraindications. I periodically gain weight, because I do not always adhere to proper nutrition. Therefore, every 1.5-2 years I practice using 4-6-month courses of injection of human growth hormone and at the end I have an ideal relief body, so if you are interested, read on this
blog about the use of HGH in bodybuilding.
