Hello,
About mid December last year I decided to switch from cutting to gaining muscle. I had been following Scott's PPL program since June and had great results and switched to Full Body Evolution for the winter, as I play hockey 1-2 times per week and 6 days a week at the gym was just not possible anymore.
I used the Macro calculator on this website and decided to go with 2 grams of protein and go with less carbs and more fat than have been going with Protein: 269g, Carbs: 271g and Fat: 103g. This plan has been giving me fairly good results over the past month or so but I'm finding the protein goal is tough to hit if I don't have two protein shakes a day with 2-3 servings each.
I'm thinking of dropping it down to 1.5g of protein which would bring it down to 209 grams of protein per day. the calculator always goes low on fat, in this calculation, it's 77 and then 404 of carbs. Is there any benefit to going lower than 100g of fat?
Just for reference: I'm 5'8", 170 lbs, 30 years old and I'd say my activity level is 3-5 days of activity.
Thanks for the help!
