This is so awesome @STEMJeff!! 😎 Did you have to look up the chords at all, or did you pick it all up just by listening to the music? 🎧 

Some of the songs on my channel I have to look up some or all of the music. I also have piano books for the more popular games. But this tune was all picked up by ear :-)

Thanks Scott! I have collected VGM soundtracks for some time - mostly a digital collection, but I have always been a fan.

 

Back in my teenage years, I ran a site called the "Final Fantasy Tactics Battle Music Project" (It's probably still around) and transcribed tunes from that game by ear and made MIDI files of them. I also did some from Final Fantasy 9. At one point, I was even employed by a company in Singapore to write some music for a game they were making.

 

Good call on Zelda Scott! I think I want to do either the Level 9 or regular dungeon music from the original game, and perhaps the tune from the dungeon in Zelda II. Sooo much music to choose from!

 

I'm glad you liked the videos so far. As I said the channel is pretty new but I'm glad that I have 0 dislikes and lots of likes on the videos - even if the channel hasn't crossed 300 views yet!

Oh man so your music might be in a game at some point?! That is wicked!! You might even be able to use that to get more opportunities for future games too!

Thanks Scott! Currently VGM composer is not on my list of careers - it always has been a hobby of mine since I was in HS 20 years ago. Currently I am working on becoming an Assistant Principal or other school leadership role though.
