Hey Scott,

I'm now cutting on 1800 daily calories intake and want to start clean bulking after few weeks. My plan is to increase my calories intake by 200 every 2-3 weeks. Is that good? that could make my total calroies more than 5000 after 35 weeks for example, isn't it too much? how to know when I should stop increasing the calories for a while in order not to gain fat ?

Thanks

A clean bulk is TDEE + 250 to 500 extra calories. TDEE is also known as BMR in motion. If you do way over this, you will gain mostly body fat. 5,000 calories for anyone - especially one not using drugs - is way too much. Cutting and bulking is a very simple equation of either a caloric deficit or caloric surplus of off TDEE. No need to make it anymore complicated than that. You should stop at 500 calories over TDEE or when you start seeing more bidy fat gain than muscle gain.
