I have Vitafiber by myprotein because sometimes i struggle to get enough fiber when im cutting, never a problem when bulking. it says that one serving has 30 calories but has 14 grams of carbs. if it has 14 grams of carbs then surely it would be 56 calories???

Fiber is "negative" carbs and is not counted as calories like regular carbs. Fiber does not cause an insulin response like regular carbs and is there to feed the trillions of bacteria in your intestines that form your microbiome and help move waste thru the system each day. Since it does not raise insulin and is not burned as fuel by cells, fiber is not counted in calories on food labeling.

One suggestion if I may: a better source of fiber would be to include a couple tablespoons of flaxseed meal each day with a meal. It not only has fiber but it also has the highest amount of plant based ALA which is converted to Omega 3 fatty acids in your body.

Ah ok thanks. I eat flaxseed occasionally with oatmeal but I will start eating it more frequently now.

That is exactly what I do - 2 tablespoons with my whole oats.

If you make sure your cutting diet has plenty of wholegrains, beans and vegetables like broccoli you should be able to hit that fibre goal that way too 😁
