Hey guys!

I was just wondering wether intermittant fasting would be less benefical for a 15 year old. I am looking for lean gains so I assume intermittant fasting would help keep my fat% low. However will this fasting affect my growth as a teeager.

Thanks!

No theres nothing wrong with IF for a teenager. Just gain about 1lb per month and you'll be making lean gains.

Intermittent fasting (IF) works for all age groups and its health benefits are applicable to all ages. I have been doing IF for over 2 years now. The key thing to remember about IF is that it is NOT a diet but rather an eating protocol and you MUST eat healthy, wholesome, and nutritious foods to get maximum benefit. IF is not a free pass to eat shit food like IIFYM (If It Fit Your Macros) allows via its "flexible" diet mantra and its "a calorie is a calorie" ideaology.

i Agree

Im not currently burt when i was IMF i found that i could eat even more calories and i was loosing tons of weight still.( about 400 more)  my goal was weight loss so i went from a 500 defficet to 100 and was still dropping fat like crazy and gaining muscle.

Dont worry if you have no fat to loose and on muscle to gain to will do exactly what you want as stated above.  Eat 100% on key.  fresh fruits(not to many)  veggies   (i use frozen cause of time restriction on prepping)

fresh meat

eggs

nuts (i use almonds)

Protien powder (thats a must lmao)

and lastly yogart (that tripple 0 one i use)  bland than most but still taste good and helpful with digestion health

Do not go with WFYM (what fits your macros) like stated above

if you are looking for a low BF% and to look ripped like woulverine then you cant touch anything thats not healthy.

I have been doing I.F. for appx 1.5 years now.

I.F. is a great FAT LOSS TOOL... If you're Primary goal is to gain muscle!! you are better off eating through out the day... (To keep your muscles fed and growing as much as possible.) I would reccomend doing I.F. until you're trim and at a BF%your happy with. Then start a lean gain program using IF or traditional eating format!!

Calorie deficit.....you gunna lose weight on I..F or not

Calorie Surplus....you can build mass on I.F. or not.

Bodybuilding is marathon not a sprint.

I disagree. IF can be used to build muscle as well as lean out. IF is not a diet nor a calorie restriction modality - unless you are trying to lean out. As long as you eat a surplus of calories in your designated "feeding window" you can build muscle fine. Eating constantly is a metabolic myth and our bodies are not designed for constant food intake for 12 hours or more. The "eat many small meals per day to build muscle and speed up your metabolism" is a myth that was disproved decades ago.

Building muscle is all about eating a surplus of calories - whether you eat it in a 4, 8, 12, or 14 hour window. Gaining LEAN muscle is about eating a surplus of quality calories - no IIFYM bullshit. Bulking is all about eating anything in site regardless of nutritional value to create a surplus of calories. This leads to gains in muscle and a lot of fat. IF would have the same result if you ate shit food in your feeding window.

Yup... Absolutley!!! @jmboiardi

Shame on me for not being more detailed. Of course the Surplus vs. Deficit rule applies with I.F. and muscle can be made, I wouldent say it's Ideal but yes, possible.

Im so used to people using I.F for weight loss...lol

Very understandable. Too many people view IF as a diet which it is not. I have been doing IF for about 2 years and it has worked great keeping me lean and gaining some muscle.
