Howdie folks,

Just wondering what some folks consume prior to the aarly am workout for food, supps, etc?

I used to be a after work or night time gym guy, but recently had to adjust to an early am workout(not willingly).  I typically get up at 0430 and try to be in the gym by 0500.  Been struggling to find a pre-workout nutirtion to help me deal with and get through a early am 2 hr workout feeling good.  Usually I find it really difficult to get a good workout in, as if I push myself I end up getting really light headed, which means to me my body doesnt have enough fuel to power through the workout...but Im no expert....

So to all the other crazy get out of bed and to the gym folks...what do you eat before you workout??

I workout after breakfast too.

I have 2 eggs, 28g almonds, greek yogurt and a some berries.

What do you currently eat before you hit the gym? A banana is a staple for some people, and if you are looking for something quick and easy, you could throw together a smoothie with things like oats, berries/bananas, protein powder, peanut butter etc. Could help you get some energy before the gym.

I've tried a few things....some things include banana, smoothie with almond milk/blueberries/oats/cinnamon, peanut butter protein balls(from the recipies page), and currently I take a glutamine drink with a multi-vitamin, and two asprin in the am. Ive also tried a pre-workout although Im not a huge fan of them.

 

Ive tried all these things in different combos and still nbever feel great by the time I get to the gym and start working out.
