Mexican Shredded Pork

Cooking Instructions


  • 2lbs pork loin roast
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 tsp soy sauce
  • 2 bay leaves
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 2 tsp of pink Himalayan salt
  • 2 tsp of oregano
  • 1/8 tsp cumin
  • ½ cup fresh squeezed orange juice
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cups of water


  1. Season the meat with a little salt and pepper. Sear the meat on all sides on a very hot cast iron pan or regular non-stick pan without adding any oil if possible. Do this for about 2 mins per side.

  2. In the slow cooker, add water and all of the ingredients and give it a good stir.

  3. Add the meat and set on high for about 3 hrs.

  4. Once done, drain the liquid very well and allow to cool a little. Once cool, shred the meat with a fork in a bowl.

  5. Add the 2 tbsp of olive oil and massage the meat until everything is covered. Spread out the meat on a baking tray and stick in the broiler for about 15 mins until crispy.
