I've been physically since childhood, snow/water skiing, tennis, golf, ski team in college. Started really getting into physical training once out of college; running marathons, triathlons, strength training. Fast forward 20 years unable to run marathons any longer and started working out 3 - 5 days a week. Then wanted more and started working out with a trainer for the next 10 years lifting and love it! Due to natural wear and tear on my body left me needing 3 surgeries resulting in multiple neck fusions, back surgery and unfortunately constant nerve pain. So being 56 and unable to workout, some times even just a simple walk, for 5 years I put on weight and became totally out of shape. No more running just stationary biking, no motivation, having to remain on pain meds and most of all remembering how easy all this used to be! Perhaps some personal denial here :-) This site for some reason clicked with me, probably since I love lifting and was trained properly instead of throwing weights around and making animal noises! Now losing weight, lifting, testing what works and doesn't with screw with my neck & back! Anyways thanks everyone for your input on so many topics . . . Be well & safe! Jim
