Hello guys, when I take in milk/cheese/whey protein I get a lot of acne. Is soy protein an option? Just one scoop a day containing 30 grams of wich 27.5 grams is pure soy protein? I heard it's bad for you but also if u take one scoop a day? I mean I eat nuts and eggs etc but also want some good tasting protein to scoop in and shake up..

Personally I don't see problems, but if you're not sure, google it or let the other guys gives you more data and studies about that.

You can still use BCAA, Amino X from BSN or similar products instead of protein shake after training. Other proteins get from diet.

Denzel,

It could also be a systemic allergy to dairy that may or may not go away when you are older. Instead of soy protein do egg protein instead and try eating more eggs in your diet. There are supplement companies who sell purely egg protein - no milk or whey. It is a little more expensive but egg protein is the Gold Standard of all proteins - it is the best on the planet for your body. Soy protein is OK to take as a supplement. The issue with soy is not the protein but the plant sterols (plant hormones) in the soybean. The sterols in soy are very similar chemically to estrogen which is why they are not ideal for men. Soy protein powder does not contain soy sterols in the amounts that soybeans do.

I agree with John about egg proteins. Their amino acid structure is most similar to human needs and therefore best solution, but because of their price comparing to other quality sources of proteins their usage was/is decreased.

And what I didn't know till today (and also didn't put any attention on it), those who have lactose intolerance, can use whey isolate. During processing, lactose is removed from whey.
