Buckwheat is very healthy. It is another great complex carb to try and add to your diet beyond brown rice, sweet potatoes, and whole wheat pasta.
You may also want to try Quinoa. It has the highest and most complete protein of any non-animal sourced food. It is easy to make and tastes awesome.

Yea I've heard quinoa is a healthy one too, but I haven't tried it because I just assumed I wouldn't like it. But I think I might try it actually.

It has a bit of a nutty taste as it is a seed versus a grain. Some people don't like buckwheat as it has a bit of a strong flavor. If you go to an authentic Japanese restaurant and get true buckwheat Udon on Ramon, you can get a sense of what it will taste like.

Also I don't eat brown rice, I eat white and yellow. But I want to incorporate that as well. At the supermarket today there were different brands of brown rice...some packages say "whole grain" while others don't. Does it matter whether it says that or not? I assumed all brown rice is whole grain.

All brown rice is un-processed. "Whole Grain" is put on packages to make them stand out as everyone is focused on eating more whole grains. You should eat brown, red, and black (if you can find it) rices. White and yellow are lower on the nutrition totum pole. I mix brown, red, and black together and it tastes awesome.
