Hi All.

I have a question about eating below BMR.

I am currently around 29% body fat and have around a 2000 cal BMR. I have a desk job and gym 3 times a week.

I am currently eating 1500 - 1700 cals a day? I find this pretty easy to manage but was wondering if this was to unhealthy?

Any input would be great.

Kam,

BMR and macros are calculated against LEAN body mass. 218Lbs x .70 (assuming 30% BF) = 153 Lbs. Calculate your BMR against 153 Lbs not 218. If you have done that already, I wouldn't cut your calories too low and I would try to stay at your BMR. When you cut your calories too much, your metabolism slows down as a defense mechanism. The best thing to do is INCREASE your activity. Either lift more days and/or add more cardio. This speeds up your metabolism and helps you burn more fat. As you gain muscle, you will also burn more calories as muscle is active tissue - burning calories even at rest.
