About Me

My name is Kobe, 18 yo. I'm playing the sport handball for 8 years now. Up until now, I didn't care for proper nutrition, I ate fries on fridays, drank soda regularly, didn't eat much vegetables or fruits. In general, I ate and drank what I like or what was easy to prepare. I did 3-5 practices of handball in a week, which made me think I was being healthy. I have never been lean, but I have been lean enough to be good in what I do. Because of that, I didn't have to motivation to do something about it. My biggest issue were injuries. I have broken a few fingers and a wrist along with other injuries. Since I began playing handball, my wrists and my ankles have always been weak (which is one of my biggest frustrations). And I feel abnormal pain in those areas regularly, hoping it isn't another injury (which are really terrifying thoughts/feelings). It also affects my fitness, because I couldn't excercise at least one month in a year. Denying me to build up a decent fitness level. This season is my first season without (big) injuries :) This season (2016-2017) I played in an other club which was more professional on multiple domains of the sport. It was also the first time I played in an adult division. I train with a team from the 1st division in our country and play matches myself in the 3rd division. Since those divisions require more physical strength and power than in youth divisions, I realised that I fell short in those categories. For example, after all those years of practicing, I can't even do 2-3 proper pull-ups. Really embarassing... So those categories: nutrition, fitness, strength, injury prevention, ... I'm finally aware of how important all those are. So I want to change my way of living to be more ambitious in my sport.
