Hey everyone,

My girlfiend is starting to get really involved in the gym and working out, but she has Coeliac disease.

Does anyone else have this, or can anyone advise what supplements (e.g. protein shakes etc) are the most suitable to help her progress whilest being safe?

Cheers!

Not too sure what to put in here!!

David,

Celiac disease is an automimmune reaction to gluten. Gluten is the protein in wheat and similar grains like barley. It just means your girlfriend has to avoid all products with gluten and barley. Wheat, beer, bread, pasta, barley, and rye are examples of foods to avoid. She can eat any protein she wants as long as it is gluten-free which 99% of the protein supplements available are. There are no special vitamins or supplements that will change her condition she just needs to make sure to avoid gluten in all forms.

My sister has celiac disease and she works out as well. She follows a gluten-free diet and all is well with her :-)
