    Hey Hermanites , im currently doing a body building / strength training routine im wondering if i want to build my bench squat deadlift or whatever

    how many times a week should i Benchpress Deadlift and squat thank you

    For gaining strenght in those lifts you can do them 2-3 times a week. For gaining muscle once a week, or else it will be to much volume, of course depending on what you eat and what else you train.

    Twice a week is pretty good. If you do 5 sets of 5 reps heavy then I'd maybe make sure the 2nd time is lighter higher reps. If you do heavy sets low reps twice a week then give yourself at least 3 days recovery between.

     

    I have been training coming up on 6 years and have made some great gainz. I've done a lot of trial and error on myself as well as learned from others and through research online. I've come along way in strength and size since I've started. I will continue to learn and make myself better each day.

    @mortalblood you should try my Push, Pull, Legs split man! That will help you build up strength on all of those lifts!!

    How much can you hit on these lifts right now?

     

    If you're starting out, doing those exercises multiple times a week is cool and won't tax your body too much.

     

    When you're more advanced though (2.5x bodyweight Deadlift, for example) they will take A LOT out of you. I usually only Bench, Squat, and Deadlift once a week, each kicking off a different workout of the week (Bench kicking off Chest and Tris, for example).
