Can I do cardio and gain muscle?

Yes, it is advised you perform some cardio as well as weight training.

High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) is the most effective form of cardio. It will use fat for energy before muscle. HIIT should be done either immediately AFTER lifting, later in the day or on a separate day from lifting.

Steady cardio can also be used on occasion.
