I just had to log in here again to let you all know that I am indeed seeing good progress in my venture to gain weight and muscle, and its feels goood :)

About two months ago I started researching for my kick off at the gym, the last time I was in a gym was at 17 and now I was 29. This time I wanted to do it properly, like finding a good weekly routine, watching (scotts) videos on how to do the exersizes in said routine properly, and then being serious about getting enough calories and breaking those calories down into the correct macros, for example getting enough protein which had been a worry.

So I started up, and after the first week I had DOMS for one week and couldn't work out, which is normal to me, the same happined when I was younger and first started lifting. The sad this was that right after the DOMS wore off I got ill with the flu, and it stuck me with a bad cough for 3 weeks! I couldn't even contemplate going to the gym with it, and it was frustrating as hell, because I really wanted to and I had just started. This turned out to be a "good" thing, because all that yearning for the progress that I couldn't get because I couldn't go exersize manifested, and when I got well I was right back at it with loads of motivation!

When I created my profile here I guesstimated my weight, I thought I was 60 kg (132 lbs), but while I was sick I bought a weigt and it turned out that I was actually less than that (the fat around my belly fooled me). When I got started again I clocked in at 55.3 kg (122 lbs). That did not demotivate me, only progress could be made.

So now, a couple of months after, and with a period of illness, and moving my bowels and stipping naked this morning I clocked in at 59.4! thats 4 kg (8.8 lbs) since i started eating right and exersizing enough, and to be honest that is without much leg work (my legs are pretty nice from football (soccer) already) but I will get more serious about those now, and just think about how much more I can gain when I really start destroying those large muscle groups as well :)

I asked my GF, who exersizes (running/stepping) with me each time I go, and she said she can see it very well on my back which is kinda funny because I see it really well on my arms and chest, but that means I'm ganing where im traning :)

For my next chest and triceps session I am thinking about hiring a PT/Physio, because I am experiencing some lingering trouble with my left shoulder, and I think I am doing either the DIPs wrong (or shouldn't be doing them yet) or one of the chest exersizes (bench, incline, flys).

That is great to hear man! You are making some awesome progress!

You'll definitely want to get that shoulder checked out if it is giving you trouble..training with an injury is no good, and you don't want to make it worse.

Fantastic Ketil. Keep it up and before you know it you will be bigger and stronger than you ever imagined :-)
