I have always had an interest in health and fitness, but as I am only in receipt of welfare payments (earned by caring for my grandparents instead of the UK Government) the cost of attending a gym was very prohibitive so I did everything I could to be healthy by walking everything (helped by being unable to afford a car). Between 2012 and 2017 I was a community councillor in Wales and did as much as I could to encourage healthiness in my local community and even stood for the county as a candidate for a party promoting this as a means of easing overuse of the health service. In July 2017, the Welsh Government (the same as a state house majority party) abolished weekend bus fares and therefore made gym membership a viable option and so on August 4th, I become a member of Sion Evans Fitness (the only 24 hour gym in the whole of Mid Wales) and will be able to train there every weekend (until the scheme ends in May 2018)
