Hey Scott,

If I would like to introduce myself I am pesco-vegetarian, I have started working out late Jan, 2019 along with following diet with my dietician of 1500 Calories per day. Since 5th of May I have been following your PPL routine and taking Whey Protein, BCAA, Creatine & Multivitamin, I am about to start third month soon. I work hard at gym following your routine strictly 2-3 hours on Endurance days and around 30-60 minutes on Circuits days. As of 5th of June I have stopped following that strict diet, as I trying to gain lean muscles now.

Previously: (before starting GYM & diet)

  1. Age: 26
  2. Height: 165cm
  3. Weight: 77
  4. Bodyfat %: 26.6 therefore 20.48 Kg
  5. Muscles %: 37.2 therefore 28.64 Kg

Currently:

  1. Age: 27,
  2. Height: 165cm
  3. Weight: 71.9
  4. Bodyfat %: 13.7 therefore 9.85 Kg
  5. Muscles %: 44.5 therefore 32 Kg
  6. Goal: started with 6months of Weight Loss now Muscle Gain

In Conclusion I have only gained 3.36Kg of muscles since the begining of the year! In the first two months of the strict diet and workout -by the end of March- I gained zero Muscles but lost around 6 Kg of fats. Since then muscle gain started with slower fat loss. but my friends and the dietition think I am no gaining as rapid as normal person who is training as hard as I do, which is somehow upsetting me. kindly any advice?

Thank you,

Omar

@Oalico Great progress so far though man! 3.3kg or around 7lbs of muscle gained is still good!

Could your progress be quicker though? Absolutely. The main reason you won't be gaining muscle as quickly is that you're only eating 1500 calories per day. That's not many calories at all my friend. That might even be too low for a deficit with all the training you're doing.

As a newbie you'll be gaining muscle no matter what, but if you want to maximize your results, you're going to need to get yourself into a surplus and eat more food.
